Inspiration can be found in everything & at any moment

"Inspiration is all around us" is a phrase that is said constantly. It really is true. We just have to be aware and seek it out in every moment. I am always seeking more and more sources, so here are a bunch of my favorites.

Let's start with the obvious:

  1. Pinterest

This is probably my most used app on my phone. Any free time I have, you'll catch my scrolling for at least five minutes. You can find inspiration for anything on Pinterest: style, home, recipes, etc. I have a board on my profile for everything. Something I recently have been loving is my "editorial" board on my Pinterest. It's filled with old and some new editorial photoshoots of really cool brands. These shots are basically ads for the brands and I am obsessed with them.

2. Social Media Creators

We are always on our phones and I've found some amazing creators whose styles I love and will always draw inspiration from. Here are some of my favorites right now:

  • @hannahlovey: Her style is amazing and I love that she is unapologetically herself in her outfits.

  • @palomameehan: I love Paloma's style, but I also love watching her lifestyle content as a college senior and a content creator.

  • @jespressobean: I love her style and how she continues to explore different ways of styling things. She puts things together that I never would've thought to.

  • @styledsara: Her style is just chef's kiss. I love her content and the fact that she has a full time job in fashion. I would kill to be a shadow on the wall in a day of her life.

  • @courtneygrow: Her content has gone viral and a lot of people now find so much inspiration from Courtney and it's totally warranted because as a full time mom and fashion lover, her content is truly amazing.

  • @strictlythegoodstuff: Denna's style is amazing and I love watching where she shops and her current picks.

3. Blogs

  • SheerLuxe: I love watching their YouTube videos - more specifically: days in the life of the employees, the styled series, a peek into photoshoots, and content like this: insight into a career in fashion. I also like scrolling through their site and skimming through articles on fashion, what's trending, styling. Something I love about Sheerluxe is, not only the aesthetic, but also the fact that they have something for everyone. They have a section of the website that directs you to content towards a certain demo (ex: menswear, luxegen (for a younger generation), parents, wedding).

  • WhoWhatWear: I mostly scroll through this site for style inspiration and shopping inspiration. They post a lot about things like cultivating your style, elevating basics, current trends, etc.

4. Podcasts

The thing I love about these podcasts is that they give me insight into a career in fashion and it gets me to learn more about what's currently happening in that industry.

  • Second Life

  • Let's Get Dressed

  • Business of Fashion

5. Vogue Runway App

This is one of the best apps, especially during fashion weeks. I love catching myself up on the current runways and new collections from emerging and established designers. My favorite runway currently is the Chloe Fall 2024 RTW with new creative director Chemena Kamali.

6. People on the Street

Whenever I'm in a city, I love people watching to see what others are wearing. An outfit can show you a peek into someone's personality and I think that's super interesting. I also follow Instagram and TikTok accounts that show random people's outfits while out and about. I also love following photographers on instagram because during fashion weeks they'll post what show attendees are wearing.
